One 3 inch fiber pot containing 3 maxibel bush bean seedlings. A heavy producer of uniform dark green fancy 6–8" pods of exceptional length, ramrod straightness and superb taste. For maximum tenderness and most succulent flavor pick early and often.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 3 Tohono O’odham cowpea seedlings. Highly drought- and heat-tolerant variety often used for summer cover crops. 6-7 in. purple-tinged pods. Earthy- flavored seeds have black and white markings like Holstein cows. For fresh use, harvest when seeds have filled the green pods, but before seeds have hardened. For dried use, make sure to harvest dried pods before rain or else seeds will mold. Let dried pods finish drying under cover in a rodent-proof space. This vegetable seems to have a different name in each section of the country. Cowpeas are also called southern peas, field peas, crowder peas, and black-eyed peas. By whatever name you call them, they’re an old favorite in the South

The 10-day picking window is generally from late August through early September. An excellent substitute for limas in short-season areas.

Retains sweetness so may be picked a little plumper than the thin-podded varieties. We recommend staking the 3–4' vines.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 certified organic ancho poblano hot pepper seedling. Mild heart-shaped chili perfect for stuffing in chiles rellenos or dried for ancho chili powder. Stout, dark green fruits are moderately spicy with medium-thick walls. Referred to as Poblano when used fresh and Ancho when dried for seasoning.

A most attractive pepper plant with distinctive green and white mottled foliage and 2" curving pendent fruits that look a little like swimming fish. They turn from white with green stripes to orange with brown stripes to red, packing considerable heat and full-bodied flavor that especially enhances shellfish. A mutation of a common serrano pepper that probably originated in the 1870s, by 1900 Fish was extensively grown by the African-American community around Philadelphia and Baltimore.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 certified organic ubatuba cambuci spice hot pepper seedling. Peppers shaped like bells, each with 2-5 prominent, flattened lobes with a great, fruity flavor. Its very low level of heat is appreciated in Brazil as well as in the US. Easy to dry. Cambuci peppers are named after the Cambuci fruit, which they also resemble, which in turn is named for being shaped like an indigenous style of earthen jar.

As fruits ripen they resemble a rainbow: green on the shoulder, yellow in the middle, and red on the bottom. Fully ripe fruits are gold on the stem end and red on the blossom end. Early fruits weigh over 2 lbs. with little cat-facing or deformities. Very good resistance to foliar disease. Bears until frost.

Krims are strikingly iridescent purple on the outside, usually with dark green-black shoulders and noticeable catfacing. Interiors are part black, too, with an unusual juicy yet meaty taste and texture, described as having “…a smoky flavor like a good single malt scotch.” Fruits average 12–18 oz. Krim hails from Krymsk on the Black Sea in Russia.

This large regular-leaf plant, one of the parents of Mortgage Lifter, is known for its copious yields of pink meaty fruits often exceeding 1 lb, mild with more than a touch of sweetness.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 certified organic goldie tomato seedling (open-pollinated and indeterminate). Deep orange beefsteak fruits, frequently bi-lobed, average 16–20 oz. Though reputed to be more than 150 years old, Goldie was introduced commercially in 1977 by Gleckler’s Seedsmen. One of the best of all orange tomatoes, delivering its rich flavor with an extraordinary velvety texture.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 certified organic hog heart tomato seedling (open-pollinated and indeterminate). Brought from Italy to Massachusetts, probably between 1910 and 1920, and then by Susan Eastman and Ed Lacy of Gray, Maine, to the Exhibition Hall at the 1988 Common Ground Fair, Hog Heart has won many admirers. So-named because it sometimes produces large red heart-shaped double fruits. More often, though, its 6–8 oz tomatoes are shaped like banana peppers. A meaty paste tomato noted for its sparse seed cavity, good solids and excellent flavor fresh, canned or frozen.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 certified organic mortgage lifter tomato seedling (open-pollinated and indeterminate). A legendary tomato always in demand in the Mid-Atlantic states. Fruits of mortgage lifter can average 2½ lbs and may reach 4 lbs when grown well. Plants are very productive and disease-resistant, and continue to bear until frost. These large, slightly flattened, pink-red tomatoes are meaty and flavorful with few seeds.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 certified organic new girl tomato seedling (hybrid and indeterminate). Fruits avg. 4–6 oz. and have better flavor and are more disease resistant than Early Girl. Widely adapted.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 certified organic orange banana tomato seedling (open-pollinated and indeterminate). Its sprightly sweet flavor, reminiscent of Sungold but with more depth and diverse tones, makes an ambrosial sauce by itself and adds a vivid fruity complexity to any sauce with other tomato varieties. Attractive cylindrical orange fruits 3–4" long average 4–5 oz. Susceptible to blossom-end rot. Originally offered by Moscow seedswoman Marina Danilenko in the 1996 Seed Savers Yearbook.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 Paul Robeson tomato seedling (open-pollinated and indeterminate). Like other so-called black tomatoes the fruit is more of a dusky dark red with dusky dark green shoulders. 6-oz. fruits, 2 x 4-5 in., borne two to a cluster. Excellent flavor. Russian heirloom. Named after Paul Robeson, performer of “Old Man River” and operatic vocal artist who was an advocate of equal rights for Blacks. His artistry was appreciated world-wide, especially in the Soviet Union, and hence this tomato bearing his name.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 certified organic roma vf paste tomato seedling (determinate). Productive plum tomato with great disease resistance. Vigorous and strong, producing heavy yields of picture-perfect, thick-walled fruits with deep red color and mild flavor.

No slouch in the appearance department either, the unblemished pink globes are perfectly round, the soft skins not excessively fragile and the color and size very attractive.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 certified organic queen of malinalco tomatillo seedling. Hails from the small Aztec town of Malinalco, in the Ixtapan region of Mexico. Peculiar 3"-long oblong pointed fruits ripen from green to lemon yellow with a flavor that surprises and delights! Sweet and tropical, like a ground cherry, perfect for fresh eating, roasting, grilling and for fruity salsas. Robust multi-branched bushes easily reach 3' tall and appreciate support. Harvest when fruit is plump and husk splits.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 certified organic toma verde tomatillo seedling. Early variety with tart flavor when young, becoming sweeter as it ripens. Medium to large size fruits are ready to harvest when husks split and fruit color changes from a yellow green to medium green.

A bunch of fresh certified organic garlic scapes (approximately 1/4 pound). Garlic scapes are the flower bud of the garlic plant and only available in the late spring. Scapes are delicious and taste just like garlic. They can be used in exactly the same way as garlic in any recipe.

These luffa sponges are grown on our farm from luffa gourds. Luffa sponges can be used in the bath or at the kitchen sink. They are durable, while being 100% biodegradable. Our luffas range in size from 5" to 10" long. Due to its natural nature, luffas may have dark spots or discoloration; they might also contain a few leftover seeds. Tax Included

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 y-star patty pan summer squash seedling. Bright yellow uniform scallops with pale green stars on the blossom end. Harvested small, they are quite sweet and tender, their open plant habit with minimal spines making them extremely easy to gather.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 certified organic cocozelle zucchini seedling. Rich-flavored straight fruit zucchini ribbed with light green stripes. This Italian heirloom was called Cocozella di Napoli in the 1800s.

One 3 inch fiber pot containing 1 certified organic luffa gourd seedling. May be more closely related to the cucumber than to the hardshell Lagenaria. Also known as Dishrag Gourd, dried and used for making bath sponges. Mature, dark green 14-24 in. fruits may be retted (soaked in water to soften while the soft tissue breaks down). Once retting is complete, they are cleaned and ready to use as sponges or filters. Vines have pretty, bright yellow flowers.

Freshly made fish ceviche you can serve with tortilla chips, crackers or alone as a refreshing salad. Our fish ceviche is made of local white fish marinated in lime juice with ripe tomatoes, chopped onions, fresh cilantro, kosher salt, and black pepper; thats it! Our fresh garlic scape pesto is made from our garlic scapes, olive oil, parmesan cheese, spinach, walnuts, kosher salt and black pepper; thats it no fillers.
